APPLICATIONS
A unique electrode for cold welding of cast iron without pre-heat and for joining cast iron to mild steel. Also suitable for surfacing cast iron parts subjected to erosion, corrosion and high temperatures. Best suited for repairing intricate cast iron parts, water pump housing, electric motor bodies and covers, machine frames, cylinder block, gears. Also ideal for salvaging foundry castings, gear box and differential housing, lathe beds, sugar mill rollers, glass moulds and cast iron dies.
CHARACTERISTIC
Very fine regular flow. The arc is stable. Suitable for positional welding. Very little mixing up with base material, consequently the transition zone is easily machinable. No undercut. The coating is non-conductive this it will not spark even if touch at the sides of the rod. Can be used for hard to reach welding points.
NOTES ON USAGE
1.) Clean base metal before welding.
2.) If there is a possibility that cracking spreads, make the stopholes at both ends of repairing part.
3.) Keep bead length less than 50mm to disperse welding heat. Adopt back step, stepping stone or symmetry method by turns.
4.) Hot peen in every pass.
5.) It is not necessary preheating and postheating in general but satisfactory results can be obtained by preheating at 100-200ºC in accordance with kind, shape and size of base metal.
