Applications
Flat and horizontal fillet welding of aluminum-killed steel for low temperature used for LPG tankers and LPG storage tanks.
Characteristics on usage
N-7018-G is a low hydrogen type electrode for aluminum-killed steel to be used at low temperature (lowest -60°C), and is designed for exclusive use of flat and horizontal fillet welding.
Notch toughness at low temperature is good because its weld metal contains about 1.5% Ni.
Its usability is good; stable arc and fine ripple bead surface to be welded undercut.
Notes on usage
(1) Remove rust, water, oil and paint from the surface to be welded before welding.
(2) Dry the electrodes at 350-400°C for about one hour before.
