DESCRPTION & APPLICATIONS:
VHF-NIDURIT 61 has been developed on a chromium-carbide base and used against abrasive wear, pressure and light to medium impact stressing, e.g. by coal, ores, garvel, sand etc., for surfacing on excavator teeth, wearing strips, screw conveyors etc., as well as guideways, valve ends and machine components exposed to operating temperatures up to 390ºF (200ºC).
For combines welding VHF-NIDURIT 61 makes an ideal cover pass over VOLTAWELD VHF-600. As elastic interpass for multipass welds, N-7016-A1 is recopmmended; with Mn steels the VOLTAWELD VHF 63 electrodes.
VHF-NIDURIT 61 welds much better than sintered electrode types. The manageable weld pool permits better seam build-up, so that postweld machining is unnecessary in most cases. Flat, even flow. Easy slag removal. Recovery 140%.
Welding Instructions
Guide the electrode accordingly steeply, with a short arc. Do not butter the passes too thick. Peen the weld thoroughly on stress prone workpieces. With Mn steels use the lowest amperage possible.
Weld only with dry electrodes.
