Application field
The low-hydrogen hardfacing electrode VHF-NIDURIT 65 performs exceptionally well under extreme abrasive and sliding wear at operating temperatures up to 930ºF(500ºC). In conjunction with other high-grade alloying constituents, niobium carbide gives much better wear resistance than pure chromium carbide base electrodes, with the same hardness. VHF-NIDURIT 65 is employed on machine components like screw conveyors, impact breaker strips, slag crushers, sand blasting plants, mixers, kneaders etc. as well as one processing plants working at high temperatures.
Welding properties
VHF-NIDURIT 65 welds well in horizontal and slightly upward positions. Recovery is 200%
Mechanical properties of the weld metal
High temperature resistant up to 930ºF(500ºC)
Welding Instructions
Guide the electrode steeply with medium-long arc. Excessive mixing with the parent metal is avoided by low amperage. If crack-free deposition metal is required or the weld metal is exposed to severe impacts, an austenitic interpass (e.g. VHF-CROMANG) is recommended. However full hardness is then attained only in the second or third pass.
